Topic:  Ralston’s Life after the Accident

学情分析

由于语言学习的阶段性,八年级的学生通过学习,具备了一点的综合语言运用能力,处在这一阶段的学生希望能够掌握更好的方法来分析与理解语篇,对于阅读策略与阅读技巧的渴望也比较强烈。本篇文章叙述的是真人真事,真实性是触动学生阅读的直接原因。学生对于篇幅较长的语篇的阅读能力的技巧也有待提升。如何运用恰当的学习策略,在具体的语境中理解和领悟生词的含义,从而准确理解文本是本节课的难点。同时也注重对青少年情感的教育和培养,让他们知道在生命中的困境;对冒险有自己的独立判断,具有批判思维。

 教学目标

1. Knowledge objectives:

courage, drown, avalanche, source, adventure,direct.

2. Ability objectives:

(1)According to the pictures and the title, predict what’s he like now.

(2)Master several reading strategies, fast reading, careful reading, further reading etc.

(3)After reading the whole passages, can sum up the lively words and sentences, how to deal with the difficulties.

3.Emotional objectives:

(1) We shouldn’t lose hope,give help to others even ifwe meet accidents.

(2)We should have our own dreams and try our best to achieve them.

Difficult points:

To learn:How to deal with the difficulties.

1.     Read para 2 and answer the questions.

(1)   What did the book bring people back?

(2)   Why did the book sell so well?

(3)   Why did he feel happy although he lost his right arm?

(4)   Would he change his mind if he met the accident again? How do you know?

2.Read para3 and answer the questions..

(1)   Where did he climb alone in winter?

(2)   When did he plan to climb it?

(3)   When did he restart to climb it?

(4)   What did he experience when he climbed it?

(5)   How can we know he is still active?

Think:According to this paragraph, we know:

(1)   What  is really the big adventure in his life?  Why ? 

(2)   Do you think he has a happy family? How do you know?Why does he have a happy family?

Think:What can we learn from this paragraph?

4. Read para5 and pay attention to the red words and think them over. .     

(1)             What do you think of the film? Why?

(2)             What does“went back to Blue John Canyon many times” mean?

(3)             Why did he cry? Is he really sad?

Think:According to this paragraph, we know:

He regretted broking rules about rock climbing.  

Conclusion:Because of his carelessness, the accident happened. If he was careful, he wouldn't have the accident.

When we do sports or other activities,we should follow the rules, avoid(避免)accidents,make sure our safety. It's best to have no accidents.

 

 

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

整节阅读课的核心主线是Ralston’s active lifestyle lifestyle 和人们的反映,每一段都进行了两个展示性的问题设计,是基于文本的细节性问题。同时,每一段又设计了一个参阅性的问题,是对文本内容的深化。这四段的问题设计关注了学生的思维活动内容和层次,由浅入深,循序渐进。对帮助学生“理解文本,拓展内涵,发展思维”是一个连续递进的完整过程。其中,对于每一段中的优美句子进行了赏析和再阅读的过程。体会主人公的性格特点。

Imagine Aron Ralston is coming to our school to give us a speech(演讲). As school reporters, are you ready for an interview? One of you is Aron and the others are reporters. Work in groups of 4 to prepare the questions for Aron and the responses from Aron.
