Unit 2 The weather is fine all year round.

【教材分析】

本模块的话题是“天气”。“天气”这个话题与人们的生活息息相关，是西方人特别是英国人在日常生活中经常谈论的。本模块的内容由“天气”扩展到去一个地方旅游的最佳时间等内容，与学生的生活联系紧密，能有效的提高学生的学习兴趣。

本模块第二单元的课文以天气为主线，介绍了去美国旅游的最佳时间。课文从实际出发，选取了美国几个比较有名的旅游胜地，如纽约、新英格兰﹑西雅图等，介绍了不同地方适宜旅游的时间，并给出了相应的建议，实用性很强。

让学生了解他国风景,增加背景知识, 培养学生学习地理知识的愿望和兴趣。通过介绍不同地方适宜旅游的时间，提醒学生做一个聪明的人，能够选择合适的时间，合适的地点，在合适的条件下去做合适的事情，并且由延伸出来的旅游话题引导学生文明旅游，做一个文明旅游者，同时鼓励学生去做一个用心灵去旅行的人。

【教学过程】

Step 1: Warming- up

1.师生互相了解。（本活动意在拉近与学生的距离，并且以此为契机导入新课。）

Step 2: Fast reading

Read the passage and answer the following questions.

1. What is the passage about?

2. How many names of places are mentioned in the passage?

What are they?

（通过快速阅读的方法，让学生了解短文的大意，先让同学们对短文有一个整体的了解。在学生阅读之前，老师教给学生快速阅读的技巧。）

Step 3: Careful reading

1. Read Paragraph 1 carefully and complete the sentence.

When you visit the US, you should bring a        .

2. Read Paragraphs 2-3 carefully, complete the table.

4.     Read Paragraph 6 and translate the two sentences into Chinese.

(1)   It’s usually very hot and sunny compared to other cities.

(2) There are storms from time to time in summer and autumn.

5. Look at the table carefully and answer the question.

（本活动是细节理解题，侧重考查学生对课文细节的理解及提取主要信息的能力。在阅读中根据各段的特点设置了不同的任务。在完成表格前提示学生通过定位关键词的方式快速完成各项任务。）

Step 4: Discussion and writing

If your friend Tony wants to go to some places in China, such as Beijing, Hainan and Shanghai. Give some advice for visiting one of them. Now you are talking on the phone.

Then according to the discussion, write some advice for visiting Beijing, Shanghai or Hainan.

（本活动是在学生讨论的基础上进行写作，让学生小组合作完成写作。培养学生的小组合作精神。）  

Step 5: Homework

Write some advice for visiting Pingyuan and give reasons.

（在课堂写作的基础上给学生布置一个写到自己家乡参观的建议的文章，从而达到巩固写作的目的。）

 

以上是我的教学设计，本单元是一节阅读课，在教学的过程中我尽量给学生提供一个相对容易的阅读环境，教给学生一些阅读的技巧，并且在适当的时间渗透德育教育。在教学过程中可能会有很多不足之处，希望各位评委老师提出宝贵意见或建议。谢谢大家。
